MS COLOR HYBRID was designed by Fosen Yard and constructed by Ulstein Verft. The vessel measures 160
metres (520 ft) long, with a capacity of up to 2,000 passengers and 500 vehicles. From August 2019, it has operated on Color Line’s route between Sandefjord in Norway and Strömstad in Sweden. The hybrid propulsion system will allow MS Color Hybrid to run on full battery power into and out of the fjord of Sandefjord. There will be zero emissions of harmful greenhouse gases or nitrogen and sulphur compounds in this area. Noise reduction is an important added pro to this vessel.
Sustainable lighting
Glamox focuses intensively on sustainability and energy efficiency when designing new lighting products. Our LED luminaires consume less than half of the energy of conventional marine lighting and produce considerably less waste. When there is no need to replace fluorescent tubes the need for maintenance is also reduced to a minimum.
Successful collaboration
The collaboration between Glamox, Ulstein Verft and Color Line has been successful. Glamox has supplied lighting to every area of the ship, from the tax-free shops, restaurants and cabins to the bridge, engine room and outdoor areas. Products include flood lights, search lights, navigation lights, technical lighting, downlights, spotlights, cabin lights and more.
