Mariana Figueiro is a Professor of Population Health Science and Policy at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, where she also serves as center director. She was the Director of the Lighting Research Center and Professor of Architecture at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute prior to joining Mount Sinai. She conducts research on the effect of light on human health, circadian photobiology, and lighting for older adults. She is the author of more than 100 scientific articles in her field of research and was invited to speak at TEDMED in 2014. She is a fellow of the IESNA.
