Among the stories you can read in the 2022 edition of lux&lumen is the lighting design of the complex Veterinary Building at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences campus. The Veterinary Building consists of 8 connected buildings and around 2400 rooms. How do you illuminate a project like this? In this interview, lighting designer Benedikte Nilsen Rauan from Multiconsult shares some insights about this extremly intricate project.
We have also spoken to Erlend Lillelien and Dr. Paul Walter Schmits-Reinecke - two long-serving members of the EN standard’s Technical Committee. They have shared some thoughts on the revision of the European standard for lighting of indoor work places, EN 12464-1, about how they reached consensus on the key changes and additions, and how the standard is being adopted across Europe.
